What a great weekend we just had. It is so nice to be able to wake up with the sun shining in through my dirty windows. It is time for some good spring cleaning. Speaking of cleaning, I would like to extend a huge thank you to all who take the time and help clean the roadways. If you have any spare time, or just want to get outside it's a very rewarding job, and you can pick up yellow bags at both Homer and Anchor Point chamber offices.

Mother's Day is Sunday; Happy Mother's Day to all moms.

Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce

The Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce will host an Open House Mixer at 6 p.m. May 12. Everyone's invited to see the changes that have been made. A board meeting will follow the open house.

Cleanup day is Saturday. Yellow bags can be picked up at the chamber. When bags are full, leave them along side the roadway and they will be picked up by Neil and Company. The bags will be set out on the porch of the chamber. Hours for the chamber and visitor center are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Starting Memorial Day weekend, the center will be open 7 days a week from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Anchor Point Senior Center

Tonight's dinner will be pot roast and all the goodies. The salad bar opens at 5:30 p.m., and dinner is served at 6 p,m. The community breakfast is from 9 a.m.-noon Sunday. All ladies will receive a rose for Mother's Day.

VFW Post 10221

Saturday is the VFW Post 10221 Ken Wardwell Pool Tournament. Sign in is at 6:30 p.m. and pool starts at 7 p.m. sharp. Steak Night is from 6-8 p.m. May 23. Memorial weekend will be jam packed with fun. Installation of officers will be May 24.
