On Tuesday afternoon the crab boat Dynamite Kid sank, a total loss, but both crewmembers aboard, Tom Christie and Louie Gjosund, were saved due to the prompt and efficient action of a coordinated air-sea rescue effort directed by Jim Rearden of the local Department of Fish and Game. The Dynamite Kid was returning from Kamishak Bay.
