Many contribute to safe summer
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed in making our 13th annual Safe Kids Fair a success. Over 150 children participated in the many events, which included the bike rodeo, where bikes were tuned up by staff from REI, helmets were fitted by volunteers from the Homer Volunteer Fire Department and Community Schools, safety signals were taught by local Homer Police on the bike rodeo course. I would also like to thank the many volunteers who assisted with over 25 interactive injury prevention booths in the fair, and the many local businesses who donated items for our "Kids Only Raffle" including bikes donated by Dr. Raymond, PFDs donated by Eagle Enterprises and skateboards donated by the Lions Club. A special thank you to all the parents for bringing your children to the fair to learn valuable injury prevention skills.
Wishing everyone a fun-filled and SAFE summer.
