Homer resident DeVon Dee Huffnagle, 81, died Saturday, May 16, 2009, at her home in Homer.
An informal gathering of family and friends is at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2009, at 479 Mountain View Dr. in Homer. Her ashes will be interred at Dallas Park Cemetery in Ridgway, Colo. at a later date.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Johnson and Golda Barrett, sisters, Dorene Marica and Dorcas Aasen and her brother, Delbert Johnson.
Mrs. Huffnagle is survived by her husband of 63 years, Syd; daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Greg Fisher, Sue and Bill Nesheim and Sandy and Roger Groth; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
Mrs. Huffnagle was born May 17, 1927, in Tama, Iowa, to William and Golda Johnson. She graduated from high school in 1945 and moved to Ridgway, Colo., where she married Sydney Huffnagle in 1946. The couple had three daughters and lived in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah before moving to Alaska in 1962. They co-owned a residential construction business while living in Anchorage and Eagle River. They built their retirement home in Homer in 1992.
