Against the Wasilla Warriors (4-4) Saturday, the Homer Mariners baseball team (1-4) nearly came up with an upset road win, falling 5-4 after leading the game heading into the fifth inning. Wasilla's Mike Shaw, who went 3 for 3 with two RBIs on the day, drove in the two winning runs with a fifth-inning double.

On Friday, the Colony Knights (7-3) scored five runs in the fourth inning to capture a 7-3 victory over the Ms at Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer.
