In brief

Cafe kicks off summer season

Fresh Sourdough Express Bakery and Café on Ocean Drive kicks off its summer season with new hours starting Friday. Summer hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Daily specials include all-you-can-eat Alaska crab from 3 to 6 p.m. and an early-bird dinner special with 20 percent discounts from 5 to 6 p.m. Breakfast is served all day, and charter box lunches are also offered.

Changes coming for restaurant

Steve “Tiny” and Lisa Nolan, now the sole proprietors of Fat Olives at the corner of the Sterling Highway and Olson Lane, are preparing to make small changes to the restaurant. Diners will note the Nolans’ influence on the menu, service and décor.

Former partners Evan and Kathy Vogla are pursuing other interests, including spending time with their daughter, Katlyn, and new son, Wyatt.

Fat Olives serves lunch and dinner year-round. It opens daily at 11 a.m., and offers eating in or take-out. For more information, call 235-8488.
