For quite a while, the large shopping carts were the only option for those who only wished to purchase a few and/or small items. Then, hand baskets became available. This was more convenient for a brief time until these new, store-labeled, rectangular, red hand baskets “walked out.”
Fellow shoppers are waiting for whoever took a “five-finger discount” on these hand baskets to return them to their rightful owner. Isn’t it nice to live in a community where stealing is not condoned because the humans are above it and know better?
Erich Fromm, in the book “Art of Loving,” suggests that thieves are greedy stealers because they don’t believe that they are good enough or deserve to get or receive from others without taking. I agree. Don’t you?
