Fund drive thanks
KBBI just concluded its on-air membership drive and I'd like to thank General Manager Len Clark and the entire KBBI staff for making this event such a success. Thanks also go out to the many listeners from Homer, Anchor Point and communities across the bay as far away as Kodiak and Ninilchik for supporting KBBI by calling us, returning pledge forms and coming in to the station. The KBBI directors volunteered their time along with many Community Advisory Board members by pitching on air, answering phones, and helping with mailings. The event was made even more enjoyable by the generous donations of food, coffee and transportation to us by various Homer businesses. Others donated some exciting items to be used as premiums and for these we are most grateful.

It was a very special treat to hear the voices of seven former KBBI staff members who came in and pitched on-air, answered phones, or let us use some very entertaining humor taped some years ago. The assistance of yet another former staffer helping out in the office is also greatly appreciated. Thanks to many of KBBI's on-air volunteers who treated us to some great shows presented with enthusiasm and caring, as well as to the guests who came in to pitch on those shows. The atmosphere was upbeat and enthusiastic, aided on May 15 and 16 by the energies of several young people from grade school to high school. Last but not least were the colorful dandelion bouquets that we received from some of the youngest children who came in with their parents.
