The Kids All American Fishing Derby is scheduled for June 8. This annual event is sponsored by the Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce. Stan Harrington of the Anchor Angler is chairman of this committee, and Anchor Angler furnishes all prizes and trophies for the Kids Derby and casting contest. There will be a picnic for the contestants provided by the Chamber of Commerce. Stop by the Anchor Angler and sign up the kids now.

Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce's summer meeting hours have been moved to 8 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at the chamber office in the Visitor Center. Preliminary plans have been discussed for the Fourth of July celebration. This will be a continuing agenda item, and anyone interested in helping with any of the events or who has ideas for new ones is invited to attend the board meetings or call the chamber at 235-2600.

The Anchor Point Senior Citizens welcomes visiting seniors to their busy summer schedule. Crafts and sewing are every Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday night dinner is at 6 p.m. Bingo is every Friday at 7 p.m. The first Thursday of the month is a potluck dinner and gives all those senior cooks the opportunity to share their culinary delights with one another. The Anchor Point Community is saddened by the recent loss of longtime residents Albert Lambert of Happy Valley and Margaret Rucker of Whiskey Gulch. The community's thoughts and prayers are with the families.
