Bash celebrates clean water, salmon

With incredible generosity from our community, Cook Inletkeeper celebrated clean water and healthy salmon on Sunday at its Beach Bash on the Spit. The event would not have been such a success without the dedication of our business supporters and volunteers.

The following businesses provided food, equipment, people and prizes to make the event happen: The Fish Factory, Ulmer's, Hallo Bay Bear Lodge, Kachemak Bay Seafood, Maura's Caf, Homer Air, Grog Shop, Alaska Brewing Co., Ring of Fire Meadery, Loopy Lupine, Land's End Resort, Save-U-More, Fritz Creek General Store, Beluga Lake Lodge, Safeway, Baycrest Greenhouse, Tom Klinker, Alan Parks and Willgrow Farm.

We especially appreciate the work and support of the Kachemak Bay Shellfish Growers, whose facility and staff made the event happen.

An extra special thanks to the individuals who worked tirelessly to direct traffic, serve food, run errands and much more: Frank Vondersaar, the Lassaw family, Pierre Ostor, Debbie Oudiz, Ellen Lord, Patty Graham, Karen Howorth, Ben Tucker, Linda Feiler, Terry McCloud and friend, Joel Cooper, John Whittier and Pete Wedin.

Thanks also to everyone who attended and we look forward to another successful event next year.
