A portion of the Homer Spit Fishing Hole will be open only for youths 15 and under from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Saturday. Signs will designate the youth-only fishing area.
Youth fisheries were established by the Alaska State Legislature and the Alaska Board of Fisheries to provide special opportunity for young people to catch fish.
Other youth fishing days at the Homer Spit Fishing Hole will be Aug. 6 and Aug. 20.
