Services for Bert Elmore, 62, formerly of Homer, Alaska, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the Cottle Funeral Home Chapel, Troup, Texas, with Pastors W.L. Williams and Kirk Elmore officiating. Burial will be in the Mixon Cemetery, near Troup.
Mr. Elmore died Monday, June 1, 2009, at his brother's residence near Frankston, Texas. He was born Feb. 14, 1947, in Wichita, Kansas, to the late Lee Roy and Josephine Bergen Elmore. He was a paint contractor who had worked and lived all over the United States. While living in Homer for four years, he was employed by Inlet Painting and Drywall.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Kay Elmore, two brothers, David Elmore and Louis Elmore and a sister, Thelma Gore.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kirk and Melissa Elmore, Kenai, Alaska, Michael and Michelle Elmore, Indiana, and Travis Elmore, Troup; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Becky Elmore, Frankston, Leeroy and Judy Elmore, Arizona; one sister, Patti Elmore, Arizona; five grandchildren, D. J. Elmore, Justin Elmore, Joshua Elmore, Madison Elmore, and Morgan Elmore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
