The youth choir includes more than 40 members in grades 9-12, seven singing and eight ringing choirs and several ensembles, all of whom are committed to a ministry through music.
Directed by Linda Wrightson, the Celebration Singers participate in worship at Tucker First United Methodist Church once a month, and tour annually.
This group of talented high school students has performed its wide repertoire at the Capitol and National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., Disney World in Fla. and the southeastern states from Texas to Massachusetts.
They also have crossed international boundaries, playing to crowns in several Canadian provinces, including Nova Scotia and Alberta.
Every fourth year, theCelebration Singers embark on an extended tour. They have traveled to England on a Methodist Heritage Tour, singing as a Bicentennial Choir in Wesley’s Chapel in London and other historic churches.
Other performances outside of the United States have been given in the Bahamas.
The Celebration Singers will be in Alaska from June 5-13. While here, the singers and ringers will perform in Anchorage, Wasilla and Kenai, ending their visit to the state at Mariner Theatre.
No admission will be charged for the performance. A suggested donation of $5 per adult can be made to the theatre.
