Spruce beetle suggestions
I read the article that was written by Ed Berg on how the Spruce beetle reproduces.

The article said the females will find a tree to burrow into to build their nest.

She will then*release a scent or chemical to attract other females to the same tree, and when the tree is full-up, the lady beetles will release a "disaggregation pheromone" that will tell all other beetles that the tree has NO vacancies, thus discouraging any newcomers from joining the infested tree.*

*Well, since you already know that a chemical is released into the air or environment around trees, why can't some scientist make a chemical that is equal to the disaggregating pheromone, that is not a biohazard, that will tell all the females all the trees are full-up and they will have no place to lay their eggs.

The Spruce beetles will not kill one more tree. It seems like a logical solution to the Spruce beetle problem.

Just a thought from someone who is interested in finding a solution to the destruction brought on by these bugs upon the Alaska landscape and countryside.
