Reception kicks off elements<P> An opening reception for Pratt Museum’s “Facing the Elements” will at 5 p.m. Friday. At 7 p.m. in the museum’s forest amphitheater, a woodwind quintet will premiere “Animalogy,” composed specifically for the Homer community. Special guests include composer Adrienne Albert and Carey Nadeau of the American Composers Forum. The museum’s 40th Anniversary Bench also will be unveiled at that time. Radio theater focus of workshop

Homer Council on the Arts presents “Voices In Our Heads, Theatre of the Mind,” a workshop on radio theater taught by Mary Langham for ages 10 and older. It offers writers, actors and technicians skills for communicating with sound, and will be held from July 5-15. Fee is $85 HCOA members, $100 nonmembers. For information, call 235-4288.

Museum highlights collection

Each Friday this summer, from 3-4 p.m., the Pratt Museum offers “The Object at Hand,” during which docents display different objects from the Pratt’s collection and provide stories and insights about the items.
