McElrath plays next week

Jazz pianist Dan McElrath performs two concerts next week. At 7:30 p.m. June 24 at Bunnell Street Arts Center, he performs compositions and shares images inspired by playing a Steinway piano on the Morris-Baker Icefield. He also plays works from the Dan Mac Quintet's new CD release, "Ajazzka." Tickets are $5 to $20 on a "pay as you can" sliding scale.

At 6 p.m. June 25, McElrath and the Dan Mac Quintet perform "Jazz in the Cove" at Quiet Place Lodge. A benefit concert in memory of Renda Horn and for The Horn Section music education fund for the Homer Foundation, tickets are $130 a person and $250 a couple. Chef Sean Maryott provides a fresh seafood cookout. Price includes meals and transportation to Halibut Cove. Tickets are available at the Homer Bookstore and the Homer Foundation.
