Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce
The chamber is open seven days a week: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday through Monday.
Fourth of July buttons are on sale and the events are being planned. If anyone is interested in volunteering, please contact the chamber at 235-2600.
Anchor Point Library
There are books for all ages. Hours for the library are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
Anchor Point Senior Center
If you’re looking for something to do Friday, come out for a night of bingo starting at 7 p.m. Don’t forget the Thursday night dinners. Cost for members is $5; for nonmembers, $7.
From 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, the senior center will hold a mini resource fair as well as a green cleaning demonstration to promote indoor air quality, which means cleaning without toxic chemicals. In addition, there will be door prizes and information on driver safety programs, the Arthritis Foundation exercise program, the Fire Smart Alaska program, Community Emergency Response Team and the disaster response program, future quilting classes and wellness circles for tobacco cessation. Dollar tacos are served on Monday night. Saturday from 6-8 p.m. is steak night. Following dinner, there is karaoke with Tom. Sunday is the monthly fish fry from 4-6 p.m. Fourth of July events will begin on July 1. There will be a calendar of events in next week’s paper.
