McCroskey enjoyed cooking, and worked at various restaurants in Homer as a cook.
“Mike liked the outdoors and spending time with his friends and family. His true passion in life was baking,” said his family.
McCroskey was preceded in death by his father, H.B. “Mack” McCroskey and his mother, Wilma “Jean” McCroskey and brothers; James and Dennis McCroskey.
He is survived by his sister Barbara Cheney of Homer; sister and brother in-law, Mari E. and Bruce Thomas of Caldwell, Idaho; sisters Jeri Chavez of Missoula, Mont. and Kathie Ramos of Pocatello, Idaho; sister and brother in-law Bonnie and John Price of Pocatello, Idaho; sister Betsy Chouinard, brother Daniel McCroskey and sister Stacey Williams, all of Las Vegas, Nev. and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements were by the Homer Funeral Home.

McCroskey was born March 17, 1956 in Livingston, Mont. He was raised in Hamilton, Mont., where he graduated from Hamilton High School. In 1980 he moved to Homer to fish halibut and cod with his father.
