Derek Dour’s bridge took first place, with a load of 80,585 grams and a mass of 37.6 grams for a rating of 2,143. Students also voted on the bridges with the most efficient and the most creative design. Kathleen Hillstrand’s bridge won most efficient and Joanna Coke’s bridge won most creative. Katie Miller’s bridge from the 2004-2005 school year still hold’s the record, with an efficiency rating of 2,883.

The winning bridge was the one with the highest efficiency rating, calculated by dividing the load of the bridge by the mass of the bridge in grams.
