Pet of the Week

Jack
Jack is only seven months old, and while he is shy around new people, he is also very sweet and loving and would make a wonderful pet. He used to live in a motor home (so he likes to ride in the car), and is housetrained. Jack has lots of energy and curiosity, though, so the yard needs to be fenced. He is also friendly with other dogs.

The American Eskimo dog is a descendent of the German spitz breeds. While many American Eskimo dogs worked in the circus at one time, Jack more closely resembled a pirate than a clown: He used to live with a parrot who rode on his back.

If you'd like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the Animal Shelter across from Public Works off the Sterling Highway. The shelter is open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 235-3141 for more information.
