Mr. Rosi was born Jan. 10, 1949, in Royal Oaks, Mich. He moved to Homer in 1952 and graduated from Homer High School. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He worked the usual Alaska jobs such as fishing, construction, tire repair and cooking, and most recently ran a sandwich shop in Homer. He frequently cooked for the American Legion and other benefits in the area. Mr. Rosi was a master of sports and music trivia, a natural athlete and a fan of any team from Detroit.
His family said, "Marshal was a man with a huge and generous heart. He always made people laugh and was always willing to help others. He lived life on his own terms and leaves a major hole in his friends' and family's lives. If a man is judged by how much he is loved by others, then Marshall's life was well spent, indeed."
Mr. Rosi is survived by his wife, Christine Rosi-Riggs; his parents, Micki Rosi and Guy Rosi Sr.; his brother, Guy Rosi Jr.; his sisters Renee Purpura of Seldovia and Linda Hosfelt of California; and his daughter, Kratz Kalyn.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Providence House, Anchorage.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
