Wednesday, July 3

Planning Commission holds a work session at 6 p.m. followed by a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.

The Old Fashioned Tent Revival continues with services at 7 p.m. today-Saturday and 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday at Homer Independent Baptist Church, Sterling Highway. Evangelist David Sommerdorf and family are the special speakers and singers. Call 235-9750.

Friday, July 5

The Public Health nurse visits the Seldovia Clinic 9 a.m.-2 p.m. for well-child checks, immunizations, women-infant-children program, pregnancy tests and health counseling and education. Call 235-8857.

Saturday, July 6

Wynn Nature Center presents "Clever Creatures, Camouflage and Adaptations" 10 a.m.-noon at the center at Mile 1.5 East Skyline Drive. Call 235-6667.

Tuesday, July 9

Wynn Nature Center holds a preschool program at 10:30 a.m. at Mile 1.5 East Skyline Drive. Call 235-6667.

City Council Committee of the Whole meets at 4 p.m. followed by the City Council meeting at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.

Homer Animal Friends meets at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.

Upcoming Events

The Kachemak Emergency Service Area Board meets at 7 p.m. July 11 at the borough office at 202 E. Pioneer Ave.

Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies celebrates its 20th Anniversary 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. July 13, at Peterson Bay on the -3.6 tide. Adults are $35 and children under 12 $20, including boat trip and lunch. A celebration is also at 10 a.m.-4 p.m. with a free nature walk and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with a benefit barbecue on July 14 at the Wynn Nature Center. The barbecue is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Call 235-6667.
