Homer Wilderness Leaders

HoWL provides outdoor experiential education and wilderness leadership courses to youth in Alaska.

Day trips are held noon-4 p.m. on Sundays from the HoWL headquarters in the Yurt Village. They are open to youth age 8 and up, and more experienced HoWLers are encouraged to be involved as junior leaders. The topic for July 10 is Geocaching with Ross. Cost is sliding scale $10-30.

Upcoming courses include: Skilak Paddle and Backpack, ages 14-18, July 11-18; Intermediate Wilderness Skills, ages 10-14, July 18-22; and Wilderness Women, ages 14 and up, July 21-23. For more information and registration, call 399-HOWL or visit www.howlalaska.org.
