Homer organizations receive Alaska Council on the Arts awards

The Alaska Council on the Arts awarded numerous grants to Homer arts and cultural organizations in its latest announcement of grants. Receiving operating support grants are Bunnell Street Arts Center, $8,068; Homer Council on the Arts, $13,000 and the Homer Society of Natural History-Pratt Museum, $20,776. Receiving Artist in School grants are Bunnell Street Arts Center, $10,000, for programs in Homer, Seldovia, Nikolaevsk and Anchor Point, and McNeil Canyon Elementary School, $1,157. Receiving Community Arts Development Grants are Kenai Peninsula Orchestra, $2,500, and Pier One Theatre, $4,000. ASCA awarded $408,000 in operating support grants, $97,000 in Artist in School grants and $53,000 in special projects grants to artists and organizations.
