Homer Alaska - Letters

I wish to say a public goodbye to my friend David Tomaszewicz. He lived with his wife, Janet, in the home they built, along Barabara Creek near Seldovia. We became friends and shared cups of tea and coffee, stories, first trips to Alaska his on a bicycle which he designed and built, peddling it up the Alcan.

He was a resourceful man with many talents. He felled the trees and cut the lumber from which he built his house. He was a private man who asked little and gave all he had, always mindful to leave things better than he found them. He died in Seattle on Aug. 21, 2010, from a prolonged battle with cancer. He was my friend. This world is better because you were here.
