Aldridge keeps his derby lead

While Chad Aldridge's 350.8-pound halibut maintains the overall lead in the Homer Jackpot Halibut Derby, new fish are making their way onto the monthly prize-winning board.

Leading the pack for the month of July are:

First place, $1,000: 174.6-pound halibut caught July l by Jamie Coker Jr. of Anchorage fishing on his own boat, the Polar Bear;

Second place, $750: 169.6-pound halibut caught July l by James Hume of Elkton, Fla., fishing with Capt. Scott Glosser of Captain Scott's Sportfishing aboard the Mako;

Third place, $500: 168.6-pound halibut caught July 3 by James Summers of Sealy, Texas, fishing with Capt. Brian Nollar of Midnight Sun Charters aboard the Belle Ille;

Fourth place, $250: 157.4-pound halibut caught July 3 by Adella Bergstrom of Santa Clarita, Calif., fishing with Capt. Cory Loos of Silver Fox Charters aboard the Brazen;

Lady Angler: Bergstrom;

Released fish for July: 1; total 25 for the season.
