High fuel costs mean fewer tourists
Tourism to Alaska could drop as much as 50 percent next season. Because all Americans are now paying 50 percent more for fuel this year than they paid last year, coupled with the ever increasing costs of an Alaska vacation including airfare, car rental, lodging and fishing charters, average middle-class working people and retirees can no longer afford a vacation to Alaska.
As long as the cost of fuel remains high or increases Alaska tourism will continue to decline. I hope I'm wrong.
