Gathering appreciated
Thank you so very much for the recent thoughtful and caring get-together sponsored by my Public Health Nursing co-workers and many health colleagues. For all of you who attended the farewell party at the Homer Elk's Lodge, it was great. I was quite surprised (and appreciative) to have Mayor Jack Cushing proclaim June 14 as Donna Fenske day. The Nunsense Nuns were a surprise and lots of fun, as was George the pilot simulating my travel by unloading at least 30 boxes and bags (an overnight trip?).

For all of you who sent flowers and gifts, stopped by to visit, sent e-mails, cards and phone calls, I am grateful. Being one of the Public Health Nurses for the lower Kenai Peninsula communities for 25 years has been rewarding, personally and professionally. I am appreciative of the trust and respect, kindness and friendships you have given me as a result of my work as a Public Health Nurse.

Although I have retired from the State of Alaska, I have not "retired." I am a full-time student at UAA, School of Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner Program and will be working half time in the villages. I will be around and look forward to seeing you. Again, thank you.

Donna Fenske
