Alaska State Parks and Community Rivers Planning Coalition in Anchor Point hold the second session of the Junior Ranger Program at the Slide Hold Day Use Area, Anchor Point State Recreation Area. The second session starts July 22 and runs 2-4 p.m. Tuesdays through Aug. 12. Junior Rangers is for children ages 8 to 12. Call 235-1034 or 235-1543.

Kenai Peninsula Safe Kids Coalition and Glacier Pontiac Buick GMC hold a free car-seat safety check from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. July 23 at the Homer Fire Department, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. July 25 at Voznesenka School, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. July 29 at the Anchor Point Fire Department and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. July 30 at the Ninilchik Clinic. Bring you car seat installed to have it examined for correct use and installation.
