In its second week on the New York Times best-seller list, Homer author Daniel Coyle's new book, "Lance Armstrong's War," has reached Number 10, after debuting in 13th place. The book focuses on Armstrong's training for his sixth Tour de France victory in 2004.
The Studio is holding a dance at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Demonstrations by a Setsuko ballroom dancer from Hawaii are scheduled for the evening. Local dancers also are invited to practice Salsa and other dance steps taught by Jo Going. For more information, call Lorraine at 235-5693.
Sacred chanting with Benjy and Heather Wertheimer and Nepali flute master Manose will be held at the yurt at Twin Creeks Trailhead Lodge on Diamond Ridge at 7 p.m. July 24. Benjy Wertheimer is a vocalist and a multi-instrumentalist, playing table, congas, percussion, esraj, guitar and keyboards. Heather is a singer-songwriter and guitarist. Their recordings include "The Love Window," which features devotional chanting, and "Circle of Fire." Tickets are $18 advance, $23 day of event. Bunnell Street Gallery's annual Homer Artists Studio Tour will be held at noon July 30. The guided tour includes transportation, refreshments, discussion and demonstrations by artists.
