Thumbelina, a nine-year-old calico, has a patchy coat of short hair and big green eyes. She is also polydactil, and has a large extra thumb. So don't let her draw you into a thumb-wrestling match or you'll lose.
Thumbelina was originally adopted from the Homer Animal Shelter two months ago. Her owner had to move to the Lower 48, though, and now she is back at the shelter and looking for a permanent home. She is spayed and has all her current vaccinations.
If you'd like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the Animal Shelter across from Public Works off the Sterling Highway. The shelter is open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 235-3141 for more information.
Thumbelina was raised with dogs and other cats. She loves company, belly rubs and gets along very well with kids. She is definitely an indoor cat and even prefers to sleep in a bed.
