Mr. Jacobs was born March 3, 1925, in Bozeman, Mont. where he was raised and graduated high school. He entered into the U.S. Army June 9, 1943, and served overseas until being honorably discharged Dec. 7, 1946. He first moved to Alaska in 1965 where he worked as a logger and commercial fisherman until he retired. Mark made Homer his home for the last 40 years. He enjoyed target shooting and his favorite place to snowmachine was in the Caribou Hills.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Mark W. Jacobs Sr.; mother, Lila Mae (Jeter) Jacobs; and his sister, Mary Jacobs.
He is survived by his wife, Barb Jacobs of Anchor Point; daughters and sons-in-law, Candy and Darrel McKinstray of Arizona; Carolynn and Morry Schaeffer of Washington; Connie and Lee Miller of Nebraska; and Debbie and A.J. Switchenberg of Wasilla; daughter, Judy Schumacher of Arizona; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Pam Jacobs of Washington; grandchildren, Ray, Steve, Dane, L.D., Kathy, Chevy, Colton, Kyle and many others too numerous to list.
Arrangements were by the Homer Funeral Home.
