Mind your own business

This is for the man and others like him that stick their noses into other people's business.

I am writing this because I never got a chance to defend myself or have my say as you had yours. Whether you think I am being mean or cruel in speaking to my child, be glad I am talking to her. There are some parents that do not. If I am reprimanding my child verbally, be glad I do. There are some parents who ignore their children hoping the whining will stop. I try not to discipline her in public at all, but it happens, and I don't do it to embarrass her. Be glad I do, because there are those who don't and that is where kids don't learn to control themselves or that there are rules. They let their kids run wild and do what they want. That is where drugs come in, that is where theft, teen pregnancy and other bad things can come in. I was at lunch and my kid was asking me for ice cream. It was her fifth time to ask. I heard enough. I was at work and I was tired as well as hungry. I wasn't up set, but she was taking off with other kids and I was thinking that she wouldn't have enough to share where she was going. I offered her a cone after she got back and her field trip was done. She didn't like it and she showed it but she quit arguing, and walked off. As I was sitting down and keeping to my self, a man walked up to me and started degrading me for the way I talked to my daughter. I wasn't able to defend my self and said as much. all I did get to say was she was arguing. This man did not know the whole story, he doesn't know me or my family, nor does he know of my daughters problems and that we limit her sugar intake. He didn't bother to ask. Well all I can say is I love my daughter and I would do anything for her. If I have to be a little meaner to keep her off the streets and away from drugs, if I have to be more strict to teach her right from wrong, then I will do it. I want her to be a functional responsible part of society. I don't want her to have a criminal record, or have a baby too early in life. I want her to grow, mature and enjoy life while making good decisions. If that makes me a terrible mom because I don't give into her every whim. Then so be it. All I ask of you and others is that if you see me reprimanding my child, butt out or ask to hear the full story before you judge me and make a fool of yourself. By the way, because she quit arguing, she got her ice cream as promised when she came back from her field trip. There was a beautiful tribute held for the Healer, Custer Bolton, last Tuesday evening at 7:PM, where as many as 35-40 people came to Celebrate Custer's life. It was an amazing ceremony and many who were there had been healed by Custer in some way or another. The friends and families personal testimonies of this beautiful human being, made us all laugh and cry several times during the evening. Custer had touched each person in some magical way, and hearing the many accounts of love made our hearts soar like an Eagle. Custer HEALED cancer, as well as many other ailments. Custer Bolton, Native American (Choctaw) man, did not ever try to draw attention to himself, but the fact that he could heal the sick in body, mind, and spirit made him a very sought after soul. He was loved by a multitude of people, and although he enjoyed living a simple life, his gift of healing took him around the world. The Stick Ceremony: Custer's walking stick was passed around the huge circle of friends giving each the chance to tell their separate experiences of Custer. Afterwards, people gathered around the firepit to listen to the guitar playing and to sing along. To our surprise, Custer's son Walter, also played guitar, so music filled the air with a variety of fun songs. People gradually started leaving with music in their ears, full of good food, and with Custer in their hearts. It was a most spiritually rewarding evening and we humbly thank you Custer for what you've meant to so many. You were/are loved, and, you will be missed. Maka Fairman
