A large section of the Homer area was without power for less than an hour Friday morning. The outage began at 10:30 a.m. when an insulator failed at the Fritz Creek substation. The incident created a power outage for nearly 2,500 Homer Electric members, including all of East End Road and part of the east section of the city of Homer. HEA crews were able to repair the faulty equipment and power was brought back on line to all the impacted areas at 11:14 a.m.
