Homer Alaska - Letters

The clouds parted and there was the Homer Street Faire. This was the third Faire in a row since Homer Council on the Arts moved the Faire to Hazel Avenue that it fell on one of the sunniest days of the summer. It was a great day of arts and crafts, food, music and fun for the kids. It was a full day of running into everyone you know.

Thank you, Cindy Nelson, for your fantastic organizational skills. The Faire runs smoother and smoother every year. Thank you, Melisse Reichman and Jewels, for your assistance; Ken Dolmela and Blake Sheehan, for keeping us all in line; and Ken Dolmela, Gene Schnipke, Hal and Lynn Spence, Shirley Fedora and Cindy's dad for all your lifting, carrying, loading and running around.

Thank you, Nina Faust, for taking pictures; Safeway for parking space for vendors and electricity; Kachemak Kids and Homer Playground Project for providing all the kid fun. Thank you, Rachel Bilbo and Sierra Smith, for hanging posters. Thank you to the musicians and dancers: Lindianne Glasgow, Marcia Lynn, Shamwari Marimba players, Kate Baum, Michael Murray, Richard Olson and the Shivering Gypsies.

Thank you to the HCOA board for your amazing support, and to all the vendors who put so much effort into the day. And a big thank you to the Homer community and to all of our visitors for dropping by to support the arts, and join the fun.
