Jana Grace Porter and Mitchell Alexander Huene

Jana Grace Porter and Mitchell Alexander Huene were married on Sunday, June 27 at 4 p.m. at the Porter family's home. The outdoor ceremony was officiated by their friend, Matt Noble. Fifty relatives and friends gathered to witness their covenant vows. The matron of honor was the bride's sister-in-law, Joleigh Porter, and best man was the groom's father, Paul Huene. Although the weather was gray and drizzling, the joyful celebration went forth with umbrellas, XtraTufs and a large tent. Karla Classen provided music on the keyboard. Out of town guests from Canada included the groom's parents, his sister Allison, his grandparents Ray and Catherine Huene, and his Aunt Jan Laring.

Jana is the daughter of Rick and Nan Porter of Homer and the granddaughter of the late Ed and Lolly Rehder. She currently works at Wildberry Products and attends the Kachemak Bay Campus of the University of Anchorage Alaska. Mitchell is the son of Paul and Twyla Huene of Irvine and Alberta, Canada. The couple plan to make their home in Homer.
