Homer resident still missing

The family of 53-year-old Stephen "Steve" Engle and the Homer Police Department are asking for help locating Engle, who was last reported seen leaving the Homer Police Department shortly after 1 p.m. July 15.

Engle is five-feet nine-inches tall, weighs approximately 140 pounds, has silver hair and brown eyes. According to his mother, Doris Engle of Homer, he may be wearing a navy blue jacket, black jeans and a rust-colored, long-sleeved shirt.

Homer Police Department's search has been joined by the Alaska State Troopers. Areas Engle is known to have spent time have been searched, other agencies across the state have been alerted and now law enforcement is turning to the public for help.

"We're labeling him as a missing person. Any help from the public to locate him would be greatly appreciated," Shealy said.

Anyone with knowledge of Engle or his whereabouts is asked to contact the Homer Police Department at 235-3150.
