It wasn't long though, before I wanted more. Coming home to a cold house got old. I traded in my Franklin stove and piles of wood and coal for an oil stove. At first it was cheap. Soon, as I became used to the convenience, the price went up way up. Then, someone suggested another, cheaper way. I switched to propane. Wow. This was the good stuff. Inexpensive, easy and clean.
Then yeh, you got it the price doubled. Now I'm heavily invested in expensive devices to burn the stuff.
My son is working on a way to power cities from ocean waves. A friend of mine claims you can get power right out of the sky with a tower. But everyone who knows how to do it is disappeared by Big Oil, Big Electricity or Big Coal. And I'm not about to piss them off. The wind blows like crazy around here at least sometimes. We just need a way to store all that power.
The darn tides rushing in and out of Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet make Bradley Lake power look pitiful. Something has to change or I'm going back to wood.
