Junk car program offered

The city of Homer's junk car removal program covers the expense of removing fluids from passenger vehicles, vans or pickups. To qualify, the vehicle must be located within city limits and the owner must be a city resident or property owner. Apply for a free junk car disposal voucher at the Planning and Zoning Office, 491 E. Pioneer Ave. The voucher covers the expense of removing hazardous materials such as oil, antifreeze, batteries, transmission and brake fluid. Owners can tow the vehicles or make arrangements with Moore & Moore Services, 235-8837, for a $50 tow.
