ames and Margaret O'Brien, Seagirt, N.J., and Eugenia Haas, Palmyra, Va., announce the engagement of their son and daughter, Brendan James O'Brien and Anaida Kristina Haas. Anaida Haas is the daughter of the late James Haas. She graduated from Homer High School in Homer and Western Washington University in Bellingham. Brendan O'Brien graduated from Westfield High School in Westfield, N.J., and Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. Both are U.S. diplomats serving in Kabul, Afghanistan. Anaida Haas is the Cultural Affairs Officer and Brendan O'Brien is the Press Attach at the U.S. Embassy. They plan to return to Washington, D.C., this autumn and are planning a spring wedding.
