Troopers contacted the victim, who said that while sleeping at a friend's home, Jimmy entered her room at about 7 a.m. and sexually assaulted her. She said she pulled away from Jimmy, crossed her legs and covered up with a blanket to keep him from touching her further. The defendant then left. The victim told troopers she saw his face and could identify him. The owner of the house told troopers he also saw Jimmy in the bedroom and that he appeared intoxicated.
A Sexual Assault Response Team nurse at South Peninsula Hospital examined the victim, and told troopers the victim had injuries consistent with her statement. Jimmy is being held at the Homer Jail on $100,000 bail.
Homer Police Officer Jason Crockett on July 28 fulfilled a wish for the Make A Wish Foundation. Make A Wish helps terminally ill children fulfill wishes. A child is trying to get into the Guiness book of world records by collecting the most business cards from official agencies. Officer Crockett pro vided the child with his business card.
An anonymous caller at 3:21 a.m. on July 29 told police a person on a backhoe was crushing a car at the Mattox Trailer Court. Police responded and saw a backhoe, but did not see it being operated.
