God, patriotism not linked
While personally I am unaffected by the Pledge of Allegiance either way (with or without God), out of respect for those with other beliefs, I feel God should be taken out of the pledge. To feel being patriotic without having to profess belief in God is only fair and democratic. The main point of my letter today is in reference to a recent letter by Candus Cornett, "'Under God,' not Satan."

As an atheist, I take offense by Mrs. Cornett's statement that taking God out of the pledge would only be making suicide bombers comfortable.

Does wanting to separate church and state make me a suicide bomber?
