Planting Seeds will perform at the Alibi on Friday, part of its 21-day Alaska tour. Promoter Rob Shatzer describes the San Francisco-based group’s sound as similar to the band Sublime’s, with “a little bit of a reggae drive.” Guitarists Troy Hazelton and Chris Rivera have played together for a decade, and the band did a benefit concert four years ago at Alice’s Champagne Palace to help fund a skateboard park in Homer, Shatzer said. Admission will be charged.
The Homer Council on the Arts is developing a complete artist listing for Homer and its outlying areas. This list will be made public upon request as a means to promote local artists.
