Alaska State Troopers at 3:15 p.m. went to a car crash on the North Fork Road at the south end. Troopers allege a 53-year-old Homer woman drove her Toyota Camry off the road. Both she and a boy passenger wore seat belts and were taken to South Peninsula Hospital for their injuries.

Aug. 5

Troopers at 5:46 p.m. made a traffic stop on a car in Ninilchik. Troopers allege the driver nearly caused a collision with another car and then fled on foot. Troopers later contacted the driver, a 22-year-old Sterling man, and arrested him for driving while license suspended.

Bureau of Highway Patrol Troopers at 7:44 p.m. went to a crash between a motorcycle and a truck on Easy Street in Ninilchik. Troopers said a Honda Enduro motorcycle driven by a 33-year-old Ninilchik man and heading north crossed into the oncoming lane and hit head-on a Chevrolet truck driven by a 17-year-old Ninilchik boy. The 33-year-old man was medevaced by a Life Med helicopter to an Anchorage hospital, where he later died. The man wore a helmet. The boy was not injured.
