Homer Alaska - Outdoors

The annual Homer High School "Ironman" triathlon, consisting of a 1,000-yard swim, 15-mile bike and 5-mile run, will be Sept. 3, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Kate Kuhns Aquatic Center. The pool will be available for warm-up at 7 a.m. Prizes will be awarded by age, gender and team categories. Registration deadline is Aug. 26. The entry fee is $50 per person or $100 per team of three and includes a T-shirt per racer. Registration will be available the day of the race beginning at 7 a.m., but the fee will be $55 and T-shirts are not guaranteed.
