The Mariner football team kicks off the season Saturday when it hosts Wasilla. The JV game starts at 11 a.m.. with the varsity following at 2 p.m. at the Homer football field.
The Homer Tennis Association is sponsoring a round-robin mixed doubles tennis tournament Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Homer High School tennis court. Teams will be randomly chosen for each round during the tournament. The entry fee is $5 plus a can of tennis balls. A potluck barbecue will follow. The Homer Softball Association city tournament will be held Friday night through Sunday at Homer Middle School. Two Friday play-in games start at 6:30 p.m. with play beginning again at 7:40 a.m. Saturday morning. Ten teams are competing for a shot at the city crown plus a ticket to the state softball tournament in Anchorage next weekend.Ready for some football?
