Elders enjoy view of bay, gardens
Last Friday a group of elders from the Friendship Center of Homer Senior Citizens Inc. spent a lovely afternoon lounging on the lush green lawn surrounded with the beautiful, fragrant and abundant flowers growing in Daisy Lee Bitter's gardens.
Daisy Lee invited our group to visit her gardens, share her view of the bay, imbibe in coffee and cookies and sit and enjoy the rewards of her years of work. The bees were busy and when we stopped to smell a peony, a rose or a "Minnesota Snowflake," we had to make sure there was no bee waiting to be snuffed up a nostril.
Daisy Lee, thank you for sharing your beauty with our elders.
