Mildred Josephine Elliott

Obituary

Longtime Anchor Point resident Mildred Josephine Elliott, 88, died Aug. 17, 2004, at South Peninsula Hospital in Homer.

Graveside services are 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at the Anchor Point Cemetery. Pastor David Edward will officiate.

Mrs. Elliott was born Jan. 31, 1916 in Qualla, N. C. She moved to Anchor Point in 1954. She was a homemaker and enjoyed art, books and animals.

Her friend said, "Mildred had a real zeal for life, and she gladly shared it with whoever came in contact with her. She loved doing crossword puzzles and could do the hardest of them faster than most people. Mildred had a very special place in her heart for children and animals. She loved Alaska and loved living here. Mildred was proud to be an American, she was very proud of all the soldiers who are helping to keep the freedoms she and this country enjoy."

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband "Jimmy" LeRoy Elliott. She is survived by her children Kim and Janet, and many friends in Alaska who will miss her dearly.

Arrangements were made by Homer Funeral Home.
