The lightweight women's double sculls tandem of Homer's Stacey Borgman and Lisa Schlenker from Lake Oswego, Ore., finished second in its repechage Tuesday, and will race in a semifinal today. While the duo sat in second position the entire way down the course, Borgman and Schlenker challenged Poland for the entire race, coming up 0.38 seconds short. The U.S. finished with a time of 6:54.12, while Poland won the race in a 6:53.74. Denmark finished third and also advanced.

The U.S. boat will now take on Germany, Romania, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Greece in the first of two semifinals today, with the top three finishers moving on to the final.
