"My cold dead hands!"
The Clinton semi-automatic weapon ban of 1994 will expire in September 2004. The liberal anti-gun lawmakers are pushing to reauthorize the ban. HR 2038 was introduced in congress by the liberal anti gun proponents in May 2003. HR 2038 will reauthorize the Clinton ban of 1994. The senate version is S 1034. The Clinton ban of 1994 banned 19 different weapons by name. HR 2038 will ban 65 to 71 guns by name and others banned by their characteristics (clips and feeding devices, pistol grips, folding stocks, etc.). HR 2038 could ban scores of the guns that are commonly used in target matches, hunting and other recreational shooting.

The Clinton ban of 1994 did nothing in America to deter criminals and terrorists from committing violent crimes with guns and neither will the reauthorizing of the ban which includes additional named guns. Gun bans only deter law abiding citizens. Law abiding citizens obey the laws. Criminals and terrorists do not.

The semi-automatic is not to be confused with a machine gun. Machine guns were made illegal in America in 1934.

Passing HR 2038 has nothing to do with preventing crime. Semi-automatic weapon bans have one purpose, that is, to desensitize the public to the regulation of weapons to prepare the American public for total confiscation. It may take a few years for our government to take all of our guns, but if we don't stand up it will happen. Check the trends. Nineteen banned in 1994, 65 to 71 to be banned in 2004.

Gun control is a disease. Like cancer gun control is destroying the body a little at a time. The Clinton ban took 19 of our guns in 1994. HR 2038 is going to take 65 to 71 in 2004 if we the people don't stand up for our rights given to us by the Second Amendment of the Constitution.

Please write, call and email your senators and congressman and urge them to uphold the oath that they took when they took office, that is uphold the Constitution of the United States. Urge them to vote no to reauthorizing the Clinton ban (HR 2038 and S 1034).
